Bendigo Amateur Boxing League Title on the Line

Ryan Polglaise will fight for the Victorian Amateur Boxing League's light heavyweight title on Saturday night, just 16 months after starting his boxing career.

Polglaise has undergone significant weight loss and improvement in his punching power since training at the Bendigo Fight Centre.

Polglaise's motivation for starting training was driven by wanting to lose weight and become fitter.

Polglaise's trainer, Lucas Allen, praises the young boxer's dedication and transformation since starting training.

Polglaise will face Jake Kavanagh, his opponent from their previous bout, in a rematch of the Bendigo Boxing Championships #1.

The Bendigo Boxing Championships #2 will feature a card of at least 15 bouts, including championship matches for Elsie Tuitupou, Ryan Polglaise, and Luke McKenzie.

The event will be held at Truscott Reserve in Eaglehawk's Murdock Street, with general admission standing tickets available at the door from 4.00pm.

Polglaise's parents, Kyal and Teghan, have been instrumental in supporting his training and competition.

The event will feature a range of boxers from Bendigo and surrounding areas, including "Kid Dynamite" Zack Bingham, who will be making his debut.

The event will be a showcase for local boxers, with many having great support from their families and friends.
