As part of his efforts to revamp and elevate the boxing infrastructure in the country, Omonlei Yakubu Imadu, CEO of Yucateco Boxing Promotions, has made a generous donation of an ultra-modern boxing ring to the Ekiti State Boxing Association. This thoughtful gesture has sent waves of excitement throughout the state, with many eagerly anticipating the potential for young athletes to showcase their skills in the newly equipped facility.

A Handover Ceremony of Unparalleled Splendor

The handover ceremony, held at the esteemed Lady Jibowu’s Hall of the Ekiti State Governor’s Office in Ado-Ekiti, was a testament to the warmth and hospitality of the state’s leadership. Governor Biodun Oyebanji, in attendance, was visibly moved by the display of generosity and commitment to empowering young people through sports.

Upon receiving the boxing ring, Governor Oyebanji extended his sincerest gratitude to Omonlei Yakubu Imadu, praising his magnanimity and unwavering dedication to promoting the development of boxing in the state. The Governor went on to express his conviction that the new facility will further enable the discovery of talented young athletes, particularly in the sport of boxing.

“Ekiti State has a rich history of producing exceptional athletes, and we firmly believe that this latest initiative will help unearth more hidden talents, most notably in the realm of boxing,” declared the Governor, his words echoing with conviction.

The Governor also seized the opportunity to express his appreciation for the kind gesture extended by Omonlei Yakubu Imadu, assuring the public that his administration will partner with Yucateco Boxing Promotions to further develop and grow boxing in the state. A token of this commitment, the Governor announced that his government will provide an acre of land for the construction of a state-of-the-art gymnasium, where young athletes can hone their skills under expert guidance.

As Omonlei Yakubu Imadu outlined his vision for the future of boxing in Ekiti State, the Governor listened intently, his face beaming with enthusiasm. Imadu emphasized his intention to initiate boxing programs across the 16 local government areas, with the ultimate goal of discovering and nurturing young talent that will represent the state and the country at large.

Furthermore, Imadu announced that Yucateco Boxing Promotions will invest in the construction of an ultra-modern gymnasium, complete with state-of-the-art facilities and equipment. The organization will also sponsor the training of boxing coaches, ring officials, and administrators, ensuring that the sport receives the expert guidance and support it requires to flourish.
