Despite the setback, Barry’s journey in boxing was guided by a talented coach, Jackie Hout, who helped him develop his skills in El Paso. “Dom as a fighter is one, a pressure fighter,” Hout said. “We always say he fights like a Mexican, even though he’s not a Mexican and he’s always trying to go forward and go for the knockout. And he’s a very heavy hitter.”

Barry’s success in the ring is a testament to his hard work and dedication. One notable fight took place at the Chihuahuas stadium, where he won a fourth-round knockout stoppage. “I fought on, when I fought on the DAZN, at the ballpark, at the Chihuahuas stadium, I won 4th round knockout stoppage,” Barry said. “The pressure was just too much for him.”

Beyond his achievements in the ring, Barry’s influence extends to his family and community. His daughters, who are also involved in martial arts, inspire him and provide a connection to his past. “Now that they’re into fighting my daughters, that’s an inspiration because I can always connect to them,” Barry said. “I can tell them, ‘Hey, Daddy knows how nervous you are. I’m nervous when I get in that fight.’”

He has been known to provide support to young boxers in his community, often going above and beyond to help them grow their skills. For instance, he recorded a video of a 10-time national champion, Moises Rodriguez, fighting a kid from Hawaii, and whoever won the fight would receive a GLD chain and $500. Barry’s influence is not limited to his community; he has also become a prominent figure in the world of social media, with over 4 million followers across platforms. “I’m a fighter, man. I’m a pressure fighter. I’m a very heavy hitter. I’m not a fan of being in the ring, but I love it,” Barry said.

If you don’t have a solid corner behind you… you can really lose that fire if you don’t have people that support you.”
